Privacy Notice
How we handle personal data when you use our website or contact us.
1. Who is responsible?
Marco Studer
FORMORIX – custom 3D printing service
Mühlemattweg 53
4225 Brislach
Switzerland
E-mail: contact@formorix.com
This notice explains how we handle personal data when you visit formorix.com, contact us by e-mail, or request a quote. It also applies to visitors outside Switzerland.
2. Which personal data do we handle?
- Website access: technically necessary connection and security information such as IP addresses, timestamps, requested pages, browser or device information, and operational error or protection signals, insofar as these are collected by our hosting provider.
- Contact and enquiries: your name, e-mail address, message content, delivery destination and any other information you decide to include.
- Technical projects: dimensions, sketches, photographs, CAD models, 3D-printing files and other documents you voluntarily send.
- Accepted orders: relevant billing, payment, shipment and order information.
3. Contact form and file uploads
When you submit an enquiry online, Cloudflare Turnstile processes technical security data to prevent automated submissions. We store your enquiry details and selected files in private Cloudflare R2 storage. Resend sends FORMORIX an e-mail. The only enquiry details in that notification are the reference number and internal storage path.
You can also use the form to prepare a message in your own e-mail application. If you choose this option, attach your files and send the message yourself. Both options request a non-binding quote.
4. Purposes and legal grounds
We use information to provide and protect our website, respond to enquiries, assess the feasibility of proposed printing projects, prepare quotations, perform agreed services and fulfil legal obligations.
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, relevant grounds include pre-contractual steps and performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)), legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)), and legitimate interests in communication, service security and preventing misuse (Article 6(1)(f)). We will request consent separately wherever legally required. Swiss data protection law also applies.
5. Hosting, e-mail and external service providers
The site uses Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc. and, where relevant, related entities) for website hosting, private file storage and security. Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc., USA) sends our internal notifications about new online enquiries. Infomaniak (Infomaniak Network SA, Switzerland) hosts our business mailbox. These providers may process personal data insofar as necessary to operate the services. Pages CMS and GitHub are used by the site operator to edit public content, not as a public repository for customer uploads.
Data may be processed or transferred outside Switzerland and the EEA in connection with global technical infrastructure. Applicable international-transfer requirements must be respected, for example through statutory adequacy frameworks or appropriate safeguards where required.
6. Cookies and analytics
FORMORIX currently does not embed its own advertising trackers, external video players or marketing analytics tools. The hosting provider may use technically necessary security measures and associated identifiers. If additional analytics, advertising or consent-based services are introduced, this notice will be updated before their activation.
7. Retention
Online enquiries and files in R2 storage are scheduled for automatic deletion 90 days after upload. The following retention periods apply to separate correspondence and order records.
We keep information only as long as needed for its purpose, security or applicable legal obligations. Enquiries that do not result in an order will normally be reviewed after the discussion is closed and should generally be deleted within twelve months unless there is a valid reason to retain them longer. Business and accounting records are retained for statutory periods, generally ten years under Swiss law. Technical logs are retained in accordance with applicable operational limits of the respective providers.
8. Confidential CAD files
We will not publish your models or drawings as public references or share them with other customers without your express permission. Where service providers are technically required, data are processed only to the necessary extent. For particularly confidential models, please arrange a secure transfer method before sending them as ordinary unencrypted e-mail attachments.
9. Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access to your personal data, correction, deletion, restriction, data portability, or object to certain processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent for the future. Contact contact@formorix.com.
In Switzerland, the competent data protection authority is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). Where the GDPR applies, you may also have the right to complain to a competent European supervisory authority.
10. Updates
We update this notice whenever our services, technology or applicable requirements change. The version available on this website is the current one.
